Cinderella Listen here!
F Bb
Once upon a time in a land far away
F Bb
There lived a beautiful maiden who slaved day after day
F Bb
For her wicked step-mother and her step-sisters too.
F Bb
She never heard the end of them telling her to do
F
Cleaning, laundry chores and more.
Bb
Make us breakfast, sweep the floor.
F
Darn our socks and underwear.
Bb F7
Take the garbage over there.
Bb F
Cinderella! Cinderella! Life is truly grand having you at hand.
Bb F Bb
Cinderella! Cinderella! You must do as we command.
F Bb
A messenger came knocking, on the family he did call
F Bb
To give an invitation to the prince’s royal ball.
F Bb
All the eligible maidens were invited to attend
F Bb
To meet the handsome prince who hoped to find love in the end.
Bb F
Cinderella! Cinderella! Help us to prepare. Help us do our hair.
Bb F Bb
Cinderella! Cinderella! Come and find what we shall wear.
F Bb
Cinderella did her best and helped the sisters to get dressed,
F Bb
But she felt down deep inside a secret wish she could not hide.
d c
Please allow me to attend, as your sister and your friend.
d F &nbö nbsp; Bb
I would like to have my chance with the prince to dance.
d
The sisters laughed. The mother sneered.
F7
Her hopes were dashed, and her eyes teared.
Bb F
Cinderella! Cinderella! Who would look at you? You have chores to do!
Bb F Bb
Cinderella! Cinderella! You may go when you are through.
F Bb
Cinderella worked so hard to clean the house and then the yard.
F Bb F7
Cleaning, laundry, mending too; there was just so much to do.
Bb F
Cinderella! Cinderella! I am finally through. Now I can come too.
Bb F Bb
Cinderella! Cinderella! Who would want to dance with you?
d
The sisters laughed. The mother sneered.
F7
Her hopes were dashed, and her eyes teared.
Bb F
Cinderella! Cinderella! You are such a mess! And you have no dress!
Bb F Bb
Cinderella! Cinderella! Left alone in her distress.
F Bb
Cinderella dried her eyes and looked around in great surprise.
F Bb
Fairy godmother sent from up above a dress and glass slippers carried by a dove.
d c
Cinderella cried with glee, "Someone’s watching over me.
d F Bb
Now I can go to the ball and dance before them all."
F Bb
At the ball the prince she saw gazed upon her quite in awe.
F Bb F7
Together all the night they danced, but at the clock she often glanced.
Bb F
Cinderella! Cinderella! "I’m in love with you." "And I love you too."
Bb F Bb
Cinderella! Cinderella! "Stay with me please say, 'I do.'"
F Bb
Midnight struck the clock did sound. Cinderella turned around.
F Bb F7
Off she ran with such a fright and disappeared into the night.
Bb F
Cinderella! Cinderella! You forgot a shoe. That’s how I’ll find you.
Bb F Bb
Cinderella! Cinderella! And for you my love is true.
F Bb
The prince searched everywhere he knew for the girl who fit the shoe.
F Bb F7
He knocked on the family’s door where Cinderella scrubbed the floor.
F Bb
The wicked step-mother took a broom and locked Cinderella in her room.
F Bb
Cinderella thought of what to do while the sisters tried the shoe.
Bb F
Cinderella! Cinderella! She broke the lock in two. Down the stairs she flew.
Bb F Bb
Cinderella! Cinderella! "Please let me try on the shoe."
d c
Cinderella fit the shoe and the prince from that day knew
d F Bb
They would live in wedded bliss and sealed it with a kiss.
Bb F
Cinderella! Cinderella! Come and live with me. Happy we will be!
Bb F Bb
Cinderella! Cinderella! Ever after happily!
