The Frog Prince        Listen here!

G
On a sunny day

                         C
The princess by the well did play

                    G
With her favorite golden ball,

         D                          G
But then it fell, deep into the well.

G
Oh the princess cried

                     C
A sorrow that she could not hide.

                       G
Her tears began to flow and fall

                 D                                  G
Because she’d lost her favorite golden ball.

G
Then she heard a sound

                                C
The princess turned and looked around.

                      G
From in the well a voice did call

             D                                      G
I’ll bring you back your favorite golden ball.

G
All I ask of you

                  C
Is that you do a favor too

                              G
And take me home and treat me well

         D                                    G
And I’ll return your golden ball that fell.

G
Yes the princess said.

                 C
I’ll even let you share my bed

                G
If only you’ll return my ball

          D                                             G
The one I dropped and down the well did fall.

G
To her great surprise

                        C
A frog appeared before her eyes

                               G
And gave her back her golden ball,

                 D                                      G
But seeing that frog, it made her fair skin crawl.

G
So she ran away

                            C
She took her ball and did not stay.

                           G
She did not keep her promised word

           D                                        G
And as she ran, the croaking frog she heard.

G                                          D
Late that night there came a knock on the door.

e                                            D
The princess dropped her dinner on the floor.

C                                      G
For she saw the frog was standing there

 D                       G
She gave a start and felt a scare.

G                                      D
Princess don’t forget you promised me

e                                 D
I returned your ball so willingly.

C                                       G
Now you must uphold just what you said

D                      G
I will share your bed.

G                                      D
The princess said no you can’t make me,

e                                         D
But the king said daughter don’t you see

C                                   G
As a princess you must keep your word

D                                          G
You made your promise, my piece you’ve heard.

G                                                     D
The princess stomped her foot and started to pout,

e                                          D
But she knew that she had no way out

C                                      G
So she took the frog with her to bed

D7                           G
As she’d promised, as she’d said

G
When the morning broke

                           C
The princess and the frog awoke

                        G
The frog no longer seemed so bad

              D                                                 G
The princess thought she could like him just a tad.

G
As their friendship grew

                          C
The princess and the frog, they knew

                     G
Forever he would be her friend

               D                                          G
And then she kissed his nose right on the end.

G
To her great surprise

                            C
A prince stood right before her eyes

                            G
And deep in love with him she fell

                     D                                   G
The prince who’d been the frog inside the well.
