Everyday they ran and played upon a grassy knoll,

but one day the grass was low so it was time to go.

The trouble was the greener grass was on the other side,

across a bridge and underneath a hungry troll did hide.

He saw the goats and licked his lips and thought, “It's time to eat.”

The goats were smart, they made a plan and readied to defeat.

First came the littlest billy goat.
Trip-trap, trip-trap,
“Who's that trip-trapping over my bridge?”

"I’m the littlest billy goat.

Eat my brother instead.

He is older and bigger than I,

and will keep you fed."
The troll licked his lips and let him pass.
Trip-trap, trip-trap, trip-trap, trip-trap.

Then came the second billy goat.
Trip-trap, trip-trap,
“Who's that trip trapping over my bridge?”

"I’m the second billy goat.

Eat my brother instead,

Come and eat me troll!"

The troll crept up onto the bridge and much to his surprise

The billy goat gave one big kick and the troll met his demise.
